The other day, I experienced something that shook me and made me ‘lose my personal power’ for a few hours. Thanks to my support network and my ability to bounce back, and after a lovely hot bath and a good night’s sleep, I was able to get over it at the same time as I explored how I was feeling about it.
In each difficult, trying and even traumatizing situation, there’s always something to gain – even if we find ourselves hitting rock bottom for a while. The secret is to not stay there!
So, how come some people bounce back better and quicker than others? According to Chantal Roy, a blogger on LesMotsPositifs.com, there are 3 personal traits that make it easier for us to take back our power:
Self-confidence
Psychological flexibility
Positive emotions
Self-confidence refers to the abilities and qualities you have, that help you live the life of your dreams.
Psychological flexibility or inner strength enables you to find solutions, unlike inflexibility and shutting yourself off.
Positive emotions are related to having a positive attitude and don’t mean that you should deny what you’re going through – they put you in a winning position.
If you choose to work on these 3 elements, you’ll be better equipped to navigate life’s curveballs!
Self-confidence is a subject that I work on practically every day, during my group workshops, 121 coaching sessions or my own life experiences. I founded a private community to help sensitive men and women build up their confidence, and create a balanced, authentic life. Come and join us here: The Freedom to be You
